Cabinet Mandates Teams To Probe Bomi Incident

By Prince S. Nagbe

MONROVIA, August 11 (LINA) – The Cabinet has mandated its Defense, Justice, and Security teams to thoroughly investigate the recent incident in Bomi County and revert to the next sitting with a comprehensive report for onward dissemination to the general public.

According to an Executive Mansion release issued in Monrovia Thursday, the Cabinet reached the decision following a review of additional updates from a report on the recent situation of shooting in Bomi County.

The Cabinet also reviewed updates reflecting agriculture, particularly the recent visit of IFAD Executive Director to Liberia, Dr. Kanayo F. Nwanze, ICT National Backbone Fiber Optic, Liberia’s financial obligations to international organizations, and immediate steps to salvage current conditions at the A.M. Dogliotti College of Medicine.

It can be recalled that there were reports of a shooting incident in Sass Town, Bomi County recently, creating fear and panic among citizens of the county as well as across the country.

Meanwhile, Bomi County Superintendent Samuel Folley Brown is calling on citizens of the county to remain calm as security forces investigate the recent shooting incident in the county.

Brown noted that certain people are using the incident to create panic in the county by spreading rumors and falsehood, noting that this is causing unease among residents of the county.

He warmed people spreading lies and rumors about the shooting incident in the county to desist immediately to allow the State security to do its work.
