Cummings Encourages Citizens To Invest In The Soil

GANTA, August 10 (LINA) - The Founder of the Cummings Africa Foundation, Alexander B. Cummings, is calling on Liberians to prioritize agriculture by investing in the soil.

According to him, when citizens invest in the soil, their dependence on government for employment and the provision of other social services will decrease.

Cummings observed that Liberia is blessed with fertile soil that makes it easy for crops to grow in the country.

Speaking to a group of citizens recently in Garplay Town, Nimba County, Mr. Cummings encouraged Liberians to see agriculture as a sure way of improving their lives and challenged them to engage in large-scale farming.

He pointed out that large-scale farming will enable citizens to feed themselves and raise money to cater to other needs through the sale of their produce.

Meanwhile, Cummings is calling on government and partners to prioritize and invest in the agriculture sector.

He pointed out that it was very important for government to empower local farmers by building their skills and providing them tools that will enhance their productivity.
