Liberian Female Engineer Appreciates Pres. Sirleaf
By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, August 10 (LINA) - One of three females, who obtained Master’s degrees in chemical engineering from the Swansea University in the United Kingdom on scholarship, has commended President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for affording her the opportunity to realize her dream.

Linda Cammue and two others were beneficiaries of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) scholarship through the instrumentality of the President.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency upon her return to the country recently, Cammue explained that her achievement has given her great experience and broadened her perspective on quality education.

She described President Sirleaf as her source of inspiration, adding that the Liberian leader's quest to empower women served as a major factor to her success while studying in London.

She said the Sirleaf government has not only created the opportunity for Liberians to study abroad on scholarships, but provided personal financial support to many Liberian women both at home and abroad to help empower them.

Meanwhile, Cammue, who is the first female chemical engineer from Bong County, is encouraging the women of Liberia to rise above the challenges of life and adequately prepare to support the country's development agenda.
