Liberia Can Achieve Middle Income Agenda Thru Agriculture - Zinnah
By Ballah M. Kollie

MONROVIA, August  9 (LINA) – Agriculture Minister Dr. Moses M. Zinnah says Liberia’s middle income agenda can be achieved if government supports the agriculture sector.

He observed that no country has succeeded in becoming a middle income or developed nation without investing in agriculture.

“Agriculture is about the best that you can get three to four times of your investment than any other sector,” Dr. Zinnah stressed.

Addressing a joint press conference he hosted with IFAD President Dr. Kanayo Nwanze Monday at the Foreign Ministry in Monrovia, he said for Liberia to triumph over the current difficulties, including the increase in prices, citizens must work along with government.

Meanwhile, Dr. Zinnah has lauded government for its commitment to funding agricultural programs in the country.

“Despite the support of our international partners - International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), World Bank, African Development Bank, U.S Agency for International Development (USAID), the European Union (EU) and others, Liberia must demonstrate that it is committing resources to the sector,” he stressed.
