Church Conducts Clean-Up In Gbarnga

By Ballah Kollie, Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, March 13, (LINA) - A religious organization in Gbarnga, Bong County, has conducted a massive clean-up exercise of public buildings and streets in Gbarnga City and its environs.

The exercise, carried out by the Kingdom Apostolic Ministry, coincided with this year’s Decoration Day on Wednesday.

It covered major streets of Gbarnga as well as public buildings, including the Gbarnga Administration Building, Superintendent's Compound, and Offices of the City Mayor.

Speaking to the Liberia News Agency after the cleanup, Head Pastor Isaac Gbayan said the exercise was in line with a vision of the church to give the city a face-lift.

“The church having observed the dirtiness of the city and being commissioned through a vision from God, decided to obey by helping the city management to clean the affected communities,” Pastor Gbayan said.

He also cited the Bible which speaks of cleanliness being Godly as additional reason for the church’s decision to undertake the clean-up campaign.

This is the first time in recent history that a church organization has undertaken a clean-up campaign in Gbarnga City, Bong County.

Recently, as part of this year’s Armed Forces Day celebration on February 11, the Engineering Battalion of the Camp Tubman Military Barracks in Gbarnga carried out similar clean-up exercise.
