GANTA, July 29 (LINA) - Nimba County Electoral District #1 Representative Jeremiah Koung has dedicated and turned over for use by citizens four major facilities in his district.

The facilities dedicated by Representative Koung include: a modern medical center, an additional five-classroom building of the John Wesley Pearson High School, the only government high school in the district, and two elementary schools in Gowee and Wlenna towns respectively.

The dedication ceremony brought together scores of dignitaries including Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai, House Speaker J. Alex Tyler, Senators Prince Johnson, Jewel Howard Taylor, and Thomas Grupee as well as Education Minister George Werner, political party representatives and ordinary citizens.

Following the program, Vice President Boakai thanked Rep. Koung for the projects, describing them as a total relief for the people of the district and Liberia in general.

VP Boakai assured Representative Koung and the people of District #1 in Nimba County of the government’s commitment to support development in the area, especially the newly constructed medical center.

The Vice President has at the same time disclosed that he has already started soliciting support from international partners for the smooth running and maintenance of the medical center.

He said, the Unity Party-led Government is always willing to work with individuals and groups to help provide basic services to the citizens.

The Liberian Vice President then called on citizens of the district to take ownership of and make maximum use of the facilities.
