President Sirleaf Consoles Germany

MONROVIA, July 26 (LINA)- President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of condolence to President Joachim Gauck on the occasion of the heartrending shooting incident at the Olympia Shopping Mall in Munich, Germany.

On July 22, ten people were killed and 16 others wounded, three of whom were critical, at a McDonald's attached to the OlympiaEinkaufszentrum shopping center in Munich, Germany.

The unidentified attacker was an 18-year-old German-Iranian who had lived in Munich for at least two years.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, in her message to Mr. Joachim Gauck, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, President Sirleaf joined in mourning Germany’s loss, noting that Liberia is deeply troubled and saddened by the fatal shooting incident and expressed
sincere thoughts and empathy to the aggrieved family members of the victims.

The Liberian leader noted that during this peculiar time, when acts of terror are looming the world over, it is Liberia’s ardent hope that
the people of Germany will be further strengthened and united so that an environment of peace, happiness and prosperity may continue to
prevail.

President Sirleaf expressed strong solidarity with the Government and people of Germany as well as heartfelt condolences to the loved ones
of the victims, particularly to the countries from which the victims hailed.

She further wished for the good health and prosperity of President Gauck and for the renewed strength and harmony of the Government and
