American NGO Launches Medical Outreach in Margibi

By Richard Baysah, Margibi County Correspondent

KAKATA, March 12 (LINA) - An American non-profit organization, Hands of Hope Foundation, has launched a medical outreach in Margibi County.

Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency Tuesday in Kakata City, the National Director of HHF Liberia, Rev. Paye Cooper Mondolo, said the medical outreach is an annual medical event under which free medical services are provided to communities.

He said a team of specialized medical doctors, including gynecologist, general surgeon, optician; dentists, physician assistants and a specialist in goiter operation from Nigeria and the United States are in the country to carry out the medical exercise.

He said HHF was founded by an American philanthropist in 2007, following the Hurricane Katrina in the United States of America.

He said funding for the outreach program comes through donations and fund-raising programs from various philanthropists and goodwill institutions.

According to Rev. Mondolo, the organization currently operates in Thailand, Peru, Bulgaria and Liberia.

The medical outreach program will last from 11-23 March, 2014.
