NCCC To Enrol 400 Students In New Training Program

GANTA, July 11 (LINA) - The Nimba County Community College (NCCC) has established a technical and vocational training program (TVTP) at the school with an expected enrolment of 400 students.
The TVTP, according to NCCC President Yah Gonway Gono, is to provide employable skills to citizens, especially young peoplewho are desirous of acquiring livelihood skills that will add value to their lives and make them employable on the job market.
In an interview with a local radio station via mobile phone from Sanniquillie over the weekend, Gono indicated that the school will up the number of students predicated upon the response from the first phase which is expected to commence this month.
She called on Liberian youths to take advantage of the program in order to acquire knowledge that will make them contribute to the development of their nation.
She added that contingent upon the success of the program, the college will be elevated to a four-year degree granting institution in the future.
Established on September 19, 2011, NCCC currently offers Associate of Arts (AA) degrees in General Agriculture, Criminal Justice, Nursing, Education, Geology, and Mining Engineering.
Gono noted that her administration is concluding negotiations with relevant institutions and partners to make the goal of elevating the college to a full-fledge university a reality.
