Ex-Presidential Candidate Pledges Support To VP Boakai

MONROVIA, July 5 (LINA) – A former presidential candidate has declared support to Vice President Joseph Boakai in the 2017 presidential elections.

Free Democratic Party former standard bearer Ciapha Gborlie described Vice President Boakai as a dedicated and honest servant truly committed to promoting positive change.

The former presidential hopeful spoke at a Special Prayer Service for VP Boakai at the William V.S. Tubman High School in Sinkor under the banner of Lofa United for the Joseph Boakai Presidency in 2017.

Also, the former Vice Presidential candidate of the defunct National Union for Democracy and Progress said though Lofa alone cannot make VP Boakai president in 2017, he wants the people of Lofa to unite and take the lead in the exercise.

Speaking at the service, Rev. Dr. Jasper Ndaborlor said he is convinced that Vice President Boakai is the right candidate to succeed President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in 2017.

Responding, VP Boakai said he will continue to seek opportunities to provide service the Liberian people.

He said over the years many Liberians have suffered and have not experienced good life and that someone has to lead the charge to take care of those who cannot make a case for themselves.

The Islamic Community that also attended the prayer service gowned VP Boakai.

Meanwhile, a women group under the banner of the Liberia Concerned Women Development Association Nimba County Branch has thrown its weight behind Vice President Boakai.

The Liberia Concerned Women Development Association in Nimba is one of the organized groups that triggered a wave of support for Vice President Boakai in Nimba in the 2005 presidential polls.
