SANNIQUELLIE, June 30 (LINA) - Dr. Yah Donalah Gonway Gono, President of the Nimba County Community College (NCCC), is calling on citizens and the Nimba Legislative Caucus to increase financial support to the institution to enable the college develop and run full Bachelor’s Degree programs.

The president’s call comes as the College gets ready for its second convocation in December.

Ahead of the second graduation, the clamour among citizens for the institution to offer full Bachelor’s Degree programs has increased.

“If the college should be a full Bachelor’s Degree granting institution, we the stakeholders of Nimba should work together to reach this goal,” the NCCC president said.

Speaking to the press at her Sanniquellie residence recently, Dr. Gono said though over the past five years stakeholders in Nimba have proven to be supportive in the running of the college, the institution needs more money now than ever before.

“We need money to train our faculty who will obtain Master’s and PhD degrees to secure the future of the institution to serve the rapidly growing student population of the province,” she emphasized.

Meanwhile, speaking to the press after a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the NCCC recently, Senator Thomas Grupee, said the Caucus is impressed with the operation of the school and is therefore willing to lobby for financial support to help the administration realize its dreams to elevate the college to a full university.
