DEA Confiscates Huge Quantity Of Drugs In Lofa
By Gabriel T. Bundor, LINA Lofa County Correspondent

VOINJAMA, June 21 (LINA) - The Lofa County Detachment of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has confiscated a huge quantity of drugs in the county, the local DEA Commander Lt. Col. George M. Ponny has disclosed.

Ponny told the Liberia News Agency Tuesday that two bags of marijuana were arrested from an alleged drug dealer by DEA agents assigned at the John’s Town Checkpoint in Voinjama District, Lofa County.

The suspect, however, escaped after using a single barrel gun to shoot at the DEA agents who were pursuing him, Ponny explained.

Meanwhile, Ponny is calling on the public to help the agency in ensuring that the perpetrator is arrested so that he can face the full weight of the law.

He is also calling on government to provide more manpower and logistical support to the detachment to enable the officers carry out their functions effectively.
