Most Bomi Commissioners’ Compounds Damaged
By David Pamas Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent
TUBMANBURG, June 19 (LINA) – The Commissioner of Klay District and Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Bomi County, Alfred Zinnah has disclosed that most of the Commissioners’ Compounds in the county are in a deplorable state.
Commissioner Zinnah said the compounds in Senjeh, Dewein, Suehn Mecca and Klay Districts are in such a bad condition that they cannot be used by the District Commissioners.
Speaking in an interview with reporters recently in Tubmanburg, Zinnah noted that some of the buildings have leaking ceilings, broken windows, damaged doors locks and bathrooms that are in a state of disuse.
He said the District Commissioners have abandoned their compounds due to the poor condition of the buildings.
He said the situation is hampering the effectiveness of their duties of administering the activities of the districts.
He said the Commissioners and their staffs cannot have enough time to handle administrative matters with the citizens in the absence of an ideal setting to perform their duties.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Zinnah is appealing to the county authority, government and partners to renovate the Commissioners’ Compounds in Bomi County to enhance local governance.
