MONROVIA, March 11,(LINA) -The 18 Grand Gedeans who are believed to have  participated in a cross-border raid into Ivory Coast in 2010 briefly appeared before the Criminal Court’ D’’ at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia Tuesday.

According to the Liberia News Agency, the Presiding Judge of the Court, Cllr. Emery Paye however, postponed the trial to Friday, March 14.

After Judge Paye read the indictment, the defendants repeated their not guilty plea.

Judge Paye has meanwhile urged the Grand Gedeans, who recently went on the rampage in the court, to always exhibit high level of maturity during the trial, promising that they would have a free and fair trial.

The 18 Grand Gedeans are currently in custody at Monrovia Central Prison for their alleged involvement in the Ivorian civil crisis, which culminated in the arrest of former president Laurent Gbagbo, who is currently on trial at the UN-backed Court in The Hague, for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
