By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, June 8 (LINA) - Citizens of Tewor District in Grand Cape Mount County are expected to hold the district’s primary for aspirants eying
the 2017 presidential and legislative elections.

Making the disclosure at a town hall meeting in Tienii recently, Tewor District Commissioner Magdalene F. Fahnbulleh said this is aimed at selecting qualified, creative and responsible candidates ahead of the 2017 elections who will ably represent the people.

She added that the 10 clans in the district have had their various primaries in which one candidate each was elected to participate in the district primary.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Fahnbulleh has warned persons who will not be elected during the district primary against contesting the election, saying that anyone doing so will not be supported by citizens of the district.

Among those elected from the clans are Abubaker J. Kiawon, A. Kandakai Jallebah, A. Siafa James, Fodee Kromah, Izemoh Sambolah, Abulia Kromah, Charles Paasewe and Madame Gbessay Sonii.

“They are the only persons that will take part in the district primary,” Fahnbulleh stressed.

She did not say the exact date the primary is slated to be held.
