Internal Affairs Vows To Protect Investors

MONROVIA, March 11 (LINA) - The Internal Affairs Ministry is calling on residents of District No. 4 in Grand Bassa County to refrain from acts that endanger public safety, security and investments.

The Ministry said acting through Grand Bassa County Superintendent Etweda Cooper; it will collaborate with other agencies to ensure safety of all investors and all citizens.

The Ministry was reacting to media reports of alleged arson attacks on the newly planted palm plantation of the Equatorial Palm Oil in District #4, Grand Bassa County.

In a press release issued Monday, the ministry condemned the act, noting that the reported fire incidence suggests that some criminal individuals may be exploiting the plantation in recent weeks with more than 26 acres planted in 2011 burnt.

It said although the cause of the fire has not been established, the ministry noted that in as much as government protects its citizens’ right of choice and freedom, it is under obligation to protect all investments legally executed by government.
