Cape Mount DEA Chief Appeals For Logistics
By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount Correspondent
ROBERTSPORT, June 6 (LINA) -The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Grand Cape Mount County detachment Commander, Octavius Manning, is appealing to government and partners for logistics to enhance the operation of the agency in the county.
Manning said DEA officers have been deployed at all major checkpoints in the five districts of Tewor, Garwula, Commonwelth, Porkpa and Gola Konneh in the county, but noted that lack of logistics is impeding their work.
He said the officers need vehicles, motorbikes and flashlights to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
He made the appeal during a visit to Bo-Waterside at the weekend.
Manning disclosed that the DEA detachment in the county has only one vehicle which is making it difficult to conduct regular patrols.
He said in order for officers to combat crimes and criminals, they should be mobile to perform their duties effectively and efficiently in the interest of the nation and its people.
