Ex-Lawmaker Challenges Youth To Prioritize Education

ROBERTSPORT, March 10 (LINA) - A former representative of Grand Cape Mount County, Mohammed A. Ware, is calling on youths of the county to prioritize education to become better and productive future  leaders .

He told the youths that their failure to utilize opportunities provided them to gain education could deny them future leadership responsibilities and make them vulnerable in society.

The former lawmaker made the call Monday in Robertsport, when he served as keynote speaker during the first graduation of a computer training program organized by the National Youth Service Program (NYSP), an undertaking of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS).

He said the reconstruction and development of Liberia cannot be achieved when the youths are not educated to participate in the process.

According to the former lawmaker, when the youth are educated, they will be able to compete with other youths in the sub-region.

Earlier, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Coordinator in the county, Sundifu Massaley and Training Director Daniel T. Draper, expressed gratitude to the graduates for their decision to participate in the program.

They said the program was designed to provide computer education for the youths and elderly to make them marketable in society.
