Pres. Sirleaf Donates To Jorquelleh Citizens

By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, May 31 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Tuesday donated several materials worth about US$1,500 to residents of Jorquelleh District #2 in Bong County.

The materials include 18 bundles of zinc to storm victims in Behla, 50 plastic chairs to the Belletanda Town Hall and a modern wheelchair for a youth with disability in the district.

Presenting the items to the District Representative Prince Moye on behalf of President Sirleaf, a staff in the president’s office, Toe Wesseh, said the donation was in fulfillment of a pledge made by the President during a visit to the district in April this year.

He said the Liberia leader remains committed to addressing the development needs of Liberians irrespective of their location.

Wesseh told the citizens that President Sirleaf was “greatly moved” by their continuous support to Representative Moye in carrying out major development initiatives in the district.

In remarks, Moye thanked President Sirleaf for the timely response to the people of the district.

The Bong County District#2 Representative reassured the citizens of government’s support to improving their living standards and thanked them for being supportive of the government.
