GBRANGA, April 20 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf will lead an array of government officials, including members of the Gbarpolu County Legislative Caucus, on Friday to break grounds for the construction of a 40-kilometer road in Gbarpolu County.

The road, according to Gbarpolu County Senator Armah Jallah, will connect Muan- Kwelleh to Palaquelleh and several other towns and villages in Gainwolala District.

Making the disclosure to the Liberia News Agency Wednesday, Senate President Pro-Tempore Jallah said the groundbreaking will pave the way for the construction of several other feeder roads in the county.

Jallah said improvement of the road network in Gbarpolu is crucial to the county’s development, and assured that all will be done by the Caucus with support from the Executive Branch to ensure it becomes a priority.

He observed that many development challenges facing the county will be addressed when the road network is improved.

He expressed concern about lack of road connectivity in the six administrative districts of the county, and lauded President Sirleaf for endorsing the caucus' recommendation for government to construct roads in the area.

Jallah hoped that with the construction of the road and rehabilitation of other feeder roads in the county, various GSM companies will extend their coverage to Gbarpolu and provide easy access to communication for the citizens.

Meanwhile, Jallah is calling on citizens of the county to join the government in enhancing basic social services in the county by giving their fullest support to various projects.
