Joint Security Nabs Sierra Leonean With Marijuana

By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, April 18 (LINA) –The Joint Security in Grand Cape Mount County has arrested a Sierra Leonean national with six kilograms of marijuana valued over 80,000 Liberian dollars.

Mohammed Conneh, aged 42, was arrested at Bo Waterside in Tewor District on his way to Monrovia to transact business.

In an interview the Liberia News agency Monday, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Commander in the county, Octavius Manning, called on citizens near the border to assist the security by reporting people suspected of importing drugs into the country.

He told LINA that there are more than 50 illegal crossing points dotting the county and that the DEA does not have the manpower to protect the border from illegal entrants, stressing the need for citizens to help the security.
