Justice Ministry Lauds New Jury System
By Comfort Johnson, Intern

MONROVIA, March 10- (LINA) -The Acting Dean of the Supreme Court Bar, Cllr. Wheatonia Dixon Barnes, says the Ministry of Justice was pleased with the attention paid to the issue of establishing greater transparency in the jury system.

She said this will help considerably in building public confidence in the judicial system.

According to the Liberia News Agency, she made statement Monday at the opening of the March Term of the Supreme Court at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.

She also admonished judges to dispense justice evenly throughout the country.

She observed that the challenges faced by the judicial system could be overcome when Judges are committed to dispensing justice free of fear or favor.

Cllr. Barnes, who is also acting Justice Minister, wants Judges to face the challenges by helping to remove the dark clouds of dissent and agitation hanging around Liberia's judicial system.

She lauded the Chief Justice and Associate Justices of the Supreme Court for their safe return to the Bench to dispense justice, which would promote the advancement of democracy and help realize the vision of the separation of power of the three branches of government.
