Court Sentences In Rivercess For Murder
By Togar Christian Chea, LINA Rivercess County Correspondent

CESTOS, April 10 (LINA) -The 14th Judicial Circuit Court  in Cestos City,  Rivercess County has found two persons guilty of the murder of the late community radio journalist Ernest Boyah.

The court sentenced Bill Kangar to life imprisonment, while Solomon Boyon will serve 10 years in prison for killing the journalist.

Giving his ruling on April 6, Resident Judge Samuel Geevon Smith said evidence adduced in court by the prosecution proved beyond all reasonable doubt that journalist Boyah was murdered by defendants Kangar and Boyon.

Meanwhile, the defense counsel has taken exception to the ruling and has announced that he will seek an appeal at the Supreme Court.

Attorney William Moore Johnson said the trial jurors were not properly instructed by the Judge.

He added that the jurors never studied the issue of provocation on the part of the victim which may have caused the defendants to commit the act.

The late Rivercess Broadcasting Service (RBS) Bassa Announcer Ernest Boyah was brutally murdered on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at about 10:00PM in Gbaejolo Town in Timbo District for allegedly having an affair with one of the defendants' wives.
