Nimba CEO Says Teachers Test ‘Successful’
By S. Kannay Ziamo, LINA Ganta, Nimba County Correspondent

GANTA, April 5 (LINA) - Nimba County Education Officer Moses Dologbay has described the just-ended Teachers Evaluation Test conducted by the Ministry of Education in Sanniquillie City as successful.

Speaking to journalists at the end of the test on Monday, Mr. Dologbay praised teachers of the county for their collaboration with the ministry.

He disclosed that of the 3,096 teachers in the employ of the Ministry in Nimba County, 2,500 wrote the test despite calls by the National Teachers Association on teachers not to take part in the process.

The Association alleged that the test was a strategy designed by the MoE to get rid of over 6,000 teachers on government payroll.

Meanwhile, the Nimba CEO clarified that the testing and evaluation process is meant to categorize teachers as per their qualifications and performance.

Announcement of the test in Sanniquellie brought unease and mixed reactions among teachers with some complaining that the test venue was too far from their assigned areas, while others said their presence in Sanniquuellie to write the test meant their absence from classes for several days.
