Bong LMA Boss Urges Marketers To 'Be Vigilant In Ebola Fight'
By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, April 5 (LINA) - The General Superintendent of the Liberia Marketing Association Bong County Chapter is calling on marketers to remain vigilant in the fight against the Ebola virus.

Madam Viola Cooper also wants marketers to continue to follow preventive measures and limit their travels to neighboring Guinea until the Ebola situation has been contained.

She noted that while it is true that the borders are open, marketers, especially those involved in cross-border trade, need to restrict their movements to Guinea.

Speaking to the Liberia News Agency in Gbarnga Tuesday, the LMA boss said this will prevent the further spread of the virus and enable the two countries to swiftly contain the latest outbreak.

The latest resurgence of the Ebola virus in Liberia was traced to a 30-year-old woman who travelled from Guinea to Liberia but later died of the virus in Monrovia.

Guinea had earlier reported a resurgence of the virus.

Meanwhile, Cooper has instructed heads of the various markets in Bong County to reinforce the various Ebola preventive measures at places under their supervision.

She said although Liberian health authorities have announced that the country is fully ready to deal with any resurgence of the Ebola virus, it was important for all citizens to remain steadfast in the fight against the disease.
