GBARNGA, April 4 (LINA) -Vice President Joseph N. Boakai has presented several food items to victims of the recent storm in Jorquelleh and Boisen Districts in Bong County.

The items include one hundred bags of 25kg rice and three hundred cartons of tuna fish.

Recently, the Bong County Legislative Caucus appealed to the Vice President to assist storm victims in the two districts.

Presenting the food items to the districts Saturday, the Chairman of the Bong Legislative Caucus, Senator Henry Yallah, praised Vice President Boakai for the timely intervention.

Senator Yallah said VP Boakai has always identified with the people of Bong County and that the caucus was gratified for the latest donation.

He admonished other citizens of goodwill and central government to assist the storm victims, especially with construction materials.

Senator Yallah said while it is true that individual lawmakers were assisting the victims, the damage caused by the storm was huge and that the victims need urgent attention.

In remarks, Jorqulleh District #2 Commissioner David Karchue thanked the Bong County Legislative Caucus and Vice President Boakai for identifying with the districts during this difficult period.

Commissioner Karchue assured the Caucus and VP Boakai of transparency in the distribution of the food items in the two districts.

The presentation ceremony was attended by Representatives Prince Moye, Tokpa Mulbah, officials of the Bong Chapter of the National Movement to support Boakai and several citizens of the two districts.
