By Calvin Brooks, LINA
MONROVIA, April 3 (LINA) - Grand Bassa County Senator Jonathan Kaipay has disclosed that major road rehabilitation has begun in several districts to facilitate the smooth movement of goods and services in the county.
He stated that rehabilitation of deplorable roads will enhance the socio-economic development of various towns and transform the living condition of the people.
The Grand Bassa County lawmaker made the disclosure recently an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Juah Town, District Number Two where a30-kilometer road from Waka Town to Compound Number Two has been upgraded.
He mentioned that besides the rehabilitation of roads, the project also takes into consideration the construction of old bridges to help connect towns in various districts.
He noted that the lack of good roads is also hampering the health delivery system for women and children, and the development of agriculture, noting that farmers do not benefit from their produce as the result of the bad road condition.
Senator Kaipay revealed that the Grand Bassa County Legislative Caucus has decided to undertake major road rehabilitation project in 2016 to foster major development activities.
