CWF To Beef Up Security In Margibi County
By Richard D. Baysah, LINA Margibi County Correspondent

KAKATA, March 29 (LINA) – The Chairman of the Community Watch Forum (CWF) in Margibi County says it has succeeded in setting up structures in various communities to beef up security in the county.

Mr. Sam Zor said with the involvement of the Liberia National Police, U.N. Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) and UN Police (UNPOL), every community now has a CWF leadership structure put in place in the face of UNMIL's drawdown later this year.

Zor made the disclosure on Monday at the county’s regular Peace, Security and Rule of Law Pillar meeting held in the conference hall of the Administration Building in Kakata.

Meanwhile, Zor has observed that the Margibi County Community Watch Forum lacks logistics to enable it effectively carry out its functions.

He said since 2004, the CWF has been operating without support from central government, despite the important role they are expected to play in the maintenance of peace and security in the country.

Zor is therefore appealing for support from central government and partners to enable the CWF effectively complement the Liberia National Police and other security agencies in maintaining the peace after the drawdown of UNMIL troops.
