MNG- GOLD Donates To Storm Victims

GBARNGA, March 29 (LINA) -MNG-Gold, a Turkish mining company operating in Kokoyah Statutory District, Bong County, has presented 50 bundles of zinc to victims of the recent storm disaster in the district.

The zinc was presented to a local disaster management committee for onward presentation to the storm victims

Presenting the materials Monday in Kokoyah District, two officials of the company, Lloyd Ngwayah and Dua Kangaroo s, said the donation was in fulfillment of a promise made by the firm during a recent meeting with the citizens following the storm disaster that killed two persons.

They said MNG Gold was not only concerned about its operations in the district but also the wellbeing of the people of Kokoyah.

The two men expressed regret over the situation and assured that MNG Gold will continue to work with them to develop Kokoyah Statutory District

For their part, the Chairman of the local Disaster Management Committee, Charleston Willie, and one of the victims, Martha Zarkpah, commended MNG Gold for identifying with them during this difficult period.

Willie and Zarkpah also said the donation will go a long way in helping to restore the damaged homes of the victims.

A rain storm recently killed two persons in Kokoyah Statutory District and a lady in Belah, Jorquelleh District Two, Bong County.

More than two hundred houses were destroyed by the storm in the two districts.
