By David Pamas Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent
TUBMANBURG, March 28 (LINA) – Feed the Farmers Initiative (FEFAI), a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Bomi County, has donated agriculture tools to the Widow Farmers Association (WIFA) in Klay District, Bomi County.
Presenting the tools to WIFA at the weekend in Albert Village, FEFAI Executive Chairman Mohammed Sando said the donation is intended to empower the widows to effectively engage in agriculture during this farming season.
Sando noted that the tools will help the widows to cultivate large farms and produce more crops to enable them feed their children and market some of the produce.
He said funding realized from the sale of the crops will also improve the economic well-being of the widows to enable them send their children to school as well.
Sando named items donated as boots, axes, cutlasses, hoes, buckets, wheelbarrows and shovels, among others.
Over 26 widows benefited from the donation which Sando said is valued at US$16,432.
Receiving the items, WIFA Executive Secretary Madam Ophelia Wilson thanked FEFAI for the donation, and assured that the tools will be used for the intended purpose, noting that they will be of great help to the widows.
