Voter Registration On Course in Cape Mount
By D. Ignatius Roberts, Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, March 8 (LINA) -The National Election Commission (NEC) magistrate in Grand Cape Mount County, Mr. David B. Armah, says the voter registration update has been completed 75 percent in the county.

Magistrate Armah made the statement Saturday in the port city of Robertsport in an exclusive interview with the Liberia News Agency (LINA) Grand Cape Mount County correspondent.

He said due to citizens' cooperation with NEC, the process is gaining momentum in the county with youths, elders, chiefs and women fully participating in it.

He said prior to the commencement of the voter roll update in the country, he conducted series of awareness seminars and workshops in cities, districts, towns and villages to encourage the citizens to participate in the process.

Meanwhile, Mr. Armah has commended the staff of NEC for working tirelessly to ensure that the commission achieves the intended goals of the voter roll update.

He told LINA that despite the deplorable condition of roads in the county, NEC has been able to reach designated sites in an effort to involve the citizenry in the process.
