Pres. Sirleaf Hails Namibia on 26th Anniversary

MONROVIA, March 19 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and people of Namibia on the occasion marking the 26th Independence Anniversary of that country on March 21, 2016.

This marks the day Namibia gained independence from South Africa in 1990.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, in the message to her Namibian counterpart, Mr. Hage Geingob, the Liberian leader extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of Namibia as they commemorate this joyous occasion, on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Liberia and in her own name.

President Sirleaf hoped that the cordial ties of friendship subsisting between their two countries and peoples will be further strengthened and mutually rewarding as they continue to work together in furtherance of the principles of the African Union and the United Nations for the promotion of international peace, security and economic cooperation among all nations.

She prayed that the Almighty God will endow President Geingob with abundant wisdom and strength as he leads his people to sustainable peace and greater prosperity.
