Youth Leader Urges Inmates To Be ‘Agents Of Positive Change’
By S. Kannay Ziamo, LINA Ganta, Nimba County Correspondent

GANTA, March 17 (LINA) -The Head of the National Youth Volunteers of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Ganta City, Nimba County has admonished inmates at the Ganta Police Station to see themselves as agents of positive change.

John Gaye also told the inmates not to allow others to use them to cause chaos in society and to refrain from violence and other criminal acts that could lead them to trouble and dent their future aspirations.

"We the youth are the future leaders and if we are to ably lead this country in the future, we have to refrain from all forms of violence and be law abiding citizens," Gaye cautioned the inmates.

He proffered the challenge recently when the youth organization donated farina, sugar, sacs of water, liquid soap, detergents and chlorine, as well as other food and non-food items to inmates of the Ganta Police Station.

Gaye said the items were his team's way of identifying with the inmates.

He then called on the government to ensure the speedy trial of detainees at various prison facilities across the country to ensure that justice is dispensed in a timely manner.

Receiving the items on behalf of his colleagues, inmate Rafel Kollie thanked the Youth Volunteers and called on others to emulate their example.
He appealed to government to speedily try their cases as they are living unhealthy lives in prison.
