Nimba PMC Evaluates Bids To Procure 3 Vehicles
By Wellington G. Patrick, LINA Nimba County Correspondent
SANNIQUELLIE, March 17 (LINA) - Nimba County Project Management Committee (PMC) is evaluating bids submitted by companies to supply three vehicles for use by the county administration.
The official bid opening ceremony was held in the conference room of the Tubman Administration Building in Sanniquellie on Wednesday.
The Chairperson of the Bid Evaluation Committee, Moses Mendein told the Liberia News Agency that the decision to purchase the three cars was made by delegates at the2016 County Council Sitting in Sanniquellie recently.
The delegates at the Sitting mandated the PMC to purchase five vehicles for officials of the county to enable them remain effective in the discharge of their duties and for operational purposes.
Mendein, who is also the county’s Assistant Superintendent for Fiscal Affairs, explained that the decision was aimed at increasing the number of vehicles given to the county authority by the government.
This year, delegates at the County Sitting approved a US$2.2 million budget above the US$1.9 million allotted to the county by the central government, something Supt. Mendein said has constrained the PMC to cut down budgetary allocation, expenditure and planned activities.
The official named the companies bidding as Africa Motor, Alliance Motor, CICA Motor and Prestige Motor.
He pointed out that the result from the process is expected to be released in two weeks, and revealed that the three vehicles are to be used by Superintendent Fong Zuagele, Assistant Superintendent for Fiscal Affairs Mendein and one for regional use.
