Jorquelleh Schools Get 16,000 Textbooks
By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, March 10 (LINA) - Team Jorquelleh, a local humanitarian group based in Gbarnga, Bong County, has distributed over 16,000 textbooks to schools within Electoral District#3 in Bong County.

The Chairman of Team Jorquelleh, Kolleh Reeves, told the Liberia News Agency in Gbarnga Thursday that the books were recently brought into the country from the United States by the National Secretary General of the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), Edward Gboe.

Reeves said the donation of the books was a result of Mr. Gboe’s appeals to friends and partners in the United States to assist the Jorquelleh District School System.

He said Mr. Gboe, as a son of Bong County, thinks it is necessary to give back to the community he hails from.

The Team Jorquelleh Chairman added that Mr. Gboe will continue to use his international contacts to help the people of District Three.

School administrators who received the donation praised Mr. Gboe for identifying with them, adding that the donation will ease the problem of textbooks in their respective institutions.

Over 15 public and private schools in the district received textbooks covering various academic subjects, including Chemistry, Biology, English and Literature as well as elementary and junior high school textbooks.

Some of the schools are the Dolokelen Gboveh High School, William V.S Tubman Grey High School, St. Peter's Episcopal High School, St. Mark's
Lutheran High School, St. Martins Catholic High School, Dorothy Cooper School, John F. Bakalu School and Wohn A-Nehn School.
