15 New Healthcare Facilities Built In Nimba
By S. Kannay Ziamo, LINA Ganta Correspondent

SANNIQUELLIE, February 28 (LINA) - Nimba County Health Officer, Dr. Collins Boah, has disclosed that the County Health Team constructed 15 new healthcare facilities in the county in 2015.

According to Boah, the facilities, which include nine hospitals and six maternal waiting wards, are in addition to the 64 constructed in previous years and form part of several achievements made since taking over as head of the county health and social welfare team.

In his report to citizens during the County Sitting in Sanniquellie recently, Boah named the increase in the number of doctors and other medical staff and the reactivation of the county health board as some other gains made under his administration.

Boah also pointed to the development of a complete emergency preparedness plan to quickly respond to new disease outbreaks, the setting up of a district audit committee that will provide updates on the cause of all deaths at various health centers and the construction of a modern structure to house the County Health Team in Sanniquillie.

“The team has also lobbied with partners in procuring six base radios that are being used in hard-to-reach places in the county,” he added.

Boah then lauded President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for affording him the opportunity to serve the people of Nimba County in the health sector, and called on the county administration and lawmakers “to continue to work together for the good of the county and its citizens.”
