ROBERTSPORT, March 6 (LINA) -The Commissioner of Porkpa Statutory District in Grand Cape Mount County, Lawrence Brown, has appealed to government and partners to rehabilitate the main road linking Tienii to Mano River towns.
He said due to the deplorable condition of the road and bridges, citizens are finding it difficult to transport their crops to markets.
Commissioner Brown made the appeal on Wednesday at his Bamballah office in the district, in an interview with the Liberia News Agency Grand Cape Mount County correspondent.
He explained that besides the major road, many farm-to-market roads and bridges connecting towns and villages were shut down during the war and need to be rehabilitated.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Brown has called on the government to prioritize the rehabilitation and construction of roads that will connect towns and villages in the supreme interest of the Liberian people.
At the same time, the Commissioner has disclosed that his administration has reached a decision to construct a guest house which has been lacking in the district for many years.
He also praised farmers in the district for their full involvement in farming, despite the unavailability of seed rice and farming implements.
