PUL Regrets Death Of Journalist Prince Collins

MONROVIA, February 22 (LINA) - The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) says it is saddened by the death of journalist Prince Collins.

He lost his life on February 12 in Harbel, Margibi County after a period of illness.

He will be buried on Saturday, February 27, after a funeral service at the Barnesville Lutheran Parish, family members have told the PUL.

The funeral service and interment will be preceded by a silent night of wake keeping on February 26 in Harbel, Margibi County.

Mr. Collins began his broadcasting profession at the Search for Common Ground Talking Drum Studio Project in Monrovia and later served Radio Veritas, UNMIL Radio and Radio Firestone.

Collins also made his way into the elite list of Liberian Stringers for the Voice of America.

“Prince’s short life will be remembered in Liberian Journalism for how raw talents can be polished into gems of profound qualities in any profession. His professional voice still reverberates, and we can only encourage the family to take heart,” PUL President K. Abdullai Kamara said in expressing condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the Union.

Meanwhile, the PUL will open a Book of Condolence in memory of the fallen award winning journalist on Thursday, February 22, at its headquarters in Monrovia.
