Amb. Sulunteh Awards Scholarship To Bong Youth

GBARNGA, February 17 (LINA) -A youth of Bong County, Jeremiah Nuatomue, has left the country for the United States to pursue post-graduate studies under the Ambassador Jeremiah Sulunteh International Scholarship Program.

Diplomat Sulunteh is Liberia’s Ambassador to the United States, Mexico and Canada.

In a dispatch from Washington DC, Ambassador Sulunteh said the scholarship scheme is part of his “dream to help Liberian youth to excel and realize their potential in supporting the country's development.”

The dispatch quotes envoy Sulunteh as saying that he established the scholarship program because of his “passion for education and interest in the young people.”

The departure of Nuatomue brings to four, the number of young Liberians currently benefitting from the Ambassador Sulunteh scholarship program in the United States.

Recently, another youth from Lofa County, Nyanpee Gornorpewu, left the country and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree program in the United States.

It can be recalled that the former president of the Bong University Students Union (BONSU), Victor Flomo and the first BONSU female president Malah Dahn left the country nearly three years ago as the first two beneficiaries of the Sulunteh International Scholarship program.

Victor Flomo is currently pursuing a PhD program, while Dahn is completing her Bachelor’s degree and is expected to pursue her Master’s beginning September this year.
