NARDA Hosts Post-Ebola Confab In Bong

GBARNGA, February 17 (LINA) - A three-day Open Space Conference to sustain Liberia’s victory against the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) has begun in Gbarnga, Bong County in central Liberia.

The conference, organized by the New African Research and Development Agency (NARDA), drew participants from Lofa, Montserrado, Grand Cape Mount, Maryland and Bong counties.

The Project Manager of the GIZ Ebola Funds to Liberia, Ms. Kristina Leypoldt, is also attending the conference which ends Thursday.

NARDA Executive Director Lancedell Matthews, told reporters that his organization intends to solicit the views of Liberians, especially Ebola and non-Ebola victims, about their present status after the epidemic in country.

Matthews said NARDA is also using the event to seek the impact of health and sanitation on the livelihood of citizens, and measures to prevent disease outbreaks across the country.

He noted that the participants’ views on the health system and current conditions in their communities will be used by NARDA and its partners to design better programs that will positively impact their lives.
