ROBERTSPORT, February 17(LINA) - A 20-man medical team from the United States of America arrives in the country shortly to perform free medical surgeries in Montserrado and Grand Cape Mount counties.

Montserrado County Representative Saah Joseph made the disclosure in Sinje Town, Garwula District, when the management of Radio Cape Mount honored him for his outstanding performance in the health sector in 2015, especially during the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease.

Representative Joseph said improving the health sector after 14 years of civil conflict and the Ebola crisis should claim the full attention of every Liberian and not only the government.

He said he has already reached an agreement with the medical team in the U.S. to come to Liberia to conduct free surgeries on children, women, men and the elderly who do not have money to undergo such operations.

Meanwhile, Representative Joseph has indicated that through his intervention a container of medical equipment and drugs has arrived in the country for onward distribution to some health centers and hospitals in Montserrado and Grand Cape Mount counties.

He thanked the management of Radio Cape for the honor bestowed upon him, noting that the gesture will motivate him to do more in the health and other sectors.
