PMU Conducts Community Health Risks Training In Lofa
By Gabriel T. Bundor, LINA Lofa County Intern Correspondent

VOINJAMA, February 16 (LINA) - The Pentecostal Mission Union of Liberia (PMU) has concluded a-two day “Community Health Risk Reduction Plan (CHRRP) training in Voinjama City, Lofa County.

Speaking at the close of the exercise recently, PMU Project Officer Peterena George said the training is part of its Ebola Community Action Platform (ECAP-2) project which gives Community Health Committees the lead to complete the CHRRP in their communities.

Ms. George explained that the CHRRP project is aimed at identifying major health issues in the community, their causes as well as sources to prevent them.

Some participants who spoke to the Liberia News Agency said the CHRRP is a new phenomenon which encourages communities to take self-initiatives instead of waiting for the government or non-governmental organizations to always do things for them.

The two-day training workshop, which was facilitated by Mercy Corps, brought together Community Support Officers (CSOs) and members of Community Health Committees (CHC) in the catchment areas of health
facilities.
