Justice Ja’neh Frowns On ‘Random Writs Of Arrest’
By Richard D. Baysah, LINA Margibi County Correspondent

KAKATA, February 16 (LINA) –Supreme Court Associate Justice Kabineh Ja’neh has warned magistrates and judges against the random act of issuing writs of arrest on citizens “only to generate bond fees.”

He described such act as “total nonsense and an embarrassment to the judiciary.”

Justice Ja’neh sounded the warning in his remarks during the induction of two new female Stipendiary Magistrates into office in Kakata, Margibi County recently.

He advised judges and magistrates to desist from such “unethical behavior” and revert to the moderate method of issuing summonses instead.

The two Stipendiary Magistrates inducted are Attorneys Victoria Worlobah- Duncan and Cecelia Grandoe-Rogers, who have been assigned at the Kakata and RIA Magisterial Courts in Margibi County respectively.

Prior to their appointments, Worlobah- Duncan served as Assistant Superintendent for Development for Margibi County, while Grandoe-Rogers served as Associate Magistrate at the Careysburg Magisterial Court in Montserrado County.
