Ex-Nimba Superintendent Warns Against Mob Violence
By S. Kannay Ziamo, LINA Nimba County Correspondent

GANTA, February 15 (LINA) - Former Nimba County Superintendent Edith Gongloe-Weh has warned citizens that mob violence threatens justice and undermines the fragile peace the country now enjoys.

Gongloe-Weh, who has lost two senatorial elections in the county, said the maintenance of peace and stability in the nation is the responsibility of every Liberian.

The journalist-turned-politician sounded the caution in Nengbeh Town when she represented Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine as keynote speaker at a program marking the 18th anniversary of an agricultural group, Bain Yein Sein.

According to Gongloe-Weh, one of the ways the peace of any nation can be maintained is when citizens make informed political decisions, urging Liberians to make wise choices in the 2017 Presidential and Legislative Elections.

"We can all help sustain this peace that we enjoy now by making informed decisions as we get ready to go to the polls in 2017," Gongloe-Weh pointed out.

She said gone are the days when citizens voted individuals based on tribal and other lines "Let’s shine our eyes and don't vote for people because we speak the same dialect or because we come from the same place, but let’s vote for people who have the country at heart," she emphasized.
