By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, February 10 (LINA) -The Kokoyah Citizens Union has broken grounds to construct a modern community radio station in Botota, Kokoyah Statutory District, Bong County.

According to the president of the Union, James Jackson, the radio project is among several development initiatives being undertaken by the organization.

Mr. Jackson also cited the agriculture project in the three sub-districts, the healthcare delivery initiative, the provision of stationeries and chairs for schools, and the repair of 33 hand pumps, as some of the development programs initiated by the Union in the district.

Addressing citizens during the ground breaking ceremony in Botota recently, Mr. Jackson said the Kokoyah Citizens Union has already procured the transmitter and needed accessories for the station.

He said the station to be named “Voice of Kokoyah” will be completed by August.

Serving as keynote speaker at the ceremony, female journalist Mrs. Torwon Sulonteh Brown praised the resilience of the Kokoyah Citizens Union for the project and called on its members to be focused and diligent in making their dream a reality.
