Agric Ministry Gives Seeds To Cape Mount Farmers

ROBERTSPORT, February 8 (LINA) - The Ministry of Agriculture has provided vegetable seeds to farmers in Grand Cape Mount County that can be ready for consumption when cultivated within four months.
This was disclosed by the County Agriculture Coordinator Edmond Greaves at the end of a two-day Project Concern International (PCI) Peer Project Lead Farmers Workshop held recently in Tienii, Tewor District.
The workshop brought together 150 rice, cassava and vegetable farmers from Tewor, Gola Konneh and Porkpa Districts.
Greaves did not say the quantity of seeds that was distributed to the farmers.
He, however, said for the country to be self-sufficient in food production, the Ministry of Agriculture has reached a decision to provide constant training for farmers to enable them produce more food.
Greaves assured farmers of government’s continued support to the agriculture sector.
