Kakata Police In Manhunt For Shooting Suspect
By Richard D. Baysah,  LINA Margibi County Correspondent

KAKATA, February 2 (LINA) -The Liberia National Police Margibi County detachment has launched a manhunt for a 22-year-old man who allegedly shot a trader over the weekend in Kakata.

According to LNP authorities in Kakata, suspect Paul Larmah at about 9.30 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, allegedly shot and wounded Cyrus Matadi, 28, in the Telecom Community in Kakata.

According to police, Matadi, who operates a tea shop in the community, went to urinate outside his business center when suspect Larmah pointed a single barrel gun at him and shot him at close range, inflicting a serious wound on his right jaw.

Police said after shooting his victim, suspect Larmah fled the scene and has since been at-large.

Speaking to LINA from his sick bed at the C. H. Rennie Memorial Hospital in Kakata on Monday, victim Matadi said prior to the shooting incident he had no conflict with Larmah, saying he only knew him as a motorcyclist at the time he too was a motorcyclist.

According to health authorities at the hospital where Matadi has been undergoing treatment since Sunday night, Matadi is responding to treatment.

Meanwhile, Police have announced a US$200 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of Paul Larmah.
