HARPER, March 5 (LINA) – The Cape Palmas High School in Harper, Maryland County has demoted 104 students for poor academic performance.
The affected students include 61 males and 43 females.
In an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Harper Wednesday, the Principal of the school, Mr. Hanson Murray said the decision is intended to weed out students who are not serious to learn.
The demotion exercise affected 97 tenth grade and seven eleventh grade students.
Meanwhile, Murray has disclosed that the school has placed 157 students on ‘fire list’, meaning that these students have been warned to catch up with their lesson on many occasions but still continue to fail.
Therefore, he said, these 157 students are at the point of being dropped from the Cape Palmas High School.
