Health Officer Tours Facilities In Bong

GBARNGA, January 20 (LINA) - The newly-appointed Bong County Health Officer, Dr. Gabriel Logan, has embarked on an 11-day tour of health facilities across the county.
The tour which will cover the eight health districts is intended to promote community health, assess the level of services being rendered and review reports on partners’ support to health facilities and communities.
A release from the office of the County Health Officer recently said the tour runs from January 20 to February 4, and will begin with the Zota Health District and end in Fuamah Health District.
During the tour, Dr. Logan and his team are expected to conduct orientation meetings with staff of health facilities regarding the health situation at clinics and catchment communities, the release added.
It stated that meetings will also be held with local government officials, community stakeholders and volunteers to discuss health situation in their areas.
Dr. Logan was recently appointed as Bong County Health Officer, replacing Dr. Sampson Azuakoi.
Bong County has three major hospitals with more than 55 peripheral clinics.
The hospitals include Phebe Hospital in Suakoko District, C.B. Dunbar Hospital in Gbarnga and the Concession Hospital in Bong Mines, Fuamah District.
