By Jeraldine M Gbaa, Intern

MONROVIA, January 21 (LINA) –The Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) constructed a 100 bed modern Ebola Treatment Center in 2015 for four communities in Virginia, outside Monrovia.

This disclosure is contained in the LPRC 2015 Annual Report in which it identified the communities as Banjor, Jah Tondo Town, Mango Town and VOA.

According to the report, the company also provided additional Personal Protective Equipment, medical supplies and medicines to health facilities in Montserrado, Bong, Lofa, Grand Cape Mount, Grand Bassa and Margibi counties.

The report indicated that these ‘strong hands-on and courageous support’ from the company’s Board of Directors helped match the severity of the Ebola Virus Disease with the seriousness that government attached to the fight against it.

The report stated that the interventions were made as the virus spread throughout Liberia with devastating toll on health workers.

These interventions gave invigoration and restored hope to individuals, community- based groups and health workers in fighting the menace with boldness, the report stated.
